New Sketchbook

New sketchbook, meaning I have something to put up here (besides all those music videos!) I've been on a bit of a creative low, so I don't have too much to show other than what I've been doing in life drawing class. I do have a couple In the Air sketches, so I'll start with those :)Sandra sitting and thinking. In a very "life drawing-esque" type drawing. I'm trying to get better at coming up with outfits. Either I'm too critical of myself or I am really kinda sucky at outfits and clothing. I can't decide which it is.
A more whimsical Sandra. Erm, other than blues and greens, I had a pink pencil, so I attempted to do a blush. Maybe she's had a few too many to drink?Aah, I need to practice drawing guys more. Poor Fred has the most boring poses because I'm not good at coming up with men's poses. The little doodle in the corner was a bunch of scribbles with a head, so what you see there is really all that's worth seeing.
Here I started doing some chibis. I stopped halfway because we had to drive my friend home. Some day, this may get finished.
Now, onto the results of my latest life drawing class. My friend Alvin's been giving me good tips on anatomy. This week I tried my best to focus on a strong line of action and working on the structure of the pelvis and legs. I still wimp out though when it comes to drawing hands and feet.
These sketches here are the quicky, warm-up sketches. We have about 2 minutes for each pose.
Another 2 minute sketch. I didn't use my time and lines wisely enough for this one!
20 minute sketches.
'Nother 20 minute
20 minute
20 minute. (my heads kept ending up too big!)
These next ones are from previous weeks. So for your viewing pleasure... (insert drumroll here)

Ta-dah!! The end!! :D

I was Swimming Across the Sky

I'm four days late..! But Emilie Simon's new album, The Big Machine, was released in France this past Monday! Currently it's too pricey for me to import a copy, so I'm thankful to the youtube users who have uploaded the album so that I can at least listen to it :)

So, I ended up watching the whole L'Olympia concert... (feels a tiny bit of shame since there are other more important things I should be doing right now). It is truly amazing!! I love watching Emilie perform live - it's so interesting to see how the different sounds and effects are created. I'm especially interested in that gizmo on her arm that she uses to manipulate her voice. The guy in the top hat is amusing too. :)

Singers like Emilie get me daydreaming of what it must be like to be a singer. To the dismay of my family members, I'll often belt out a tune in any given area of the apartment...

Erm, anyways, that aside..! I had lots of free time at work, and started a painting on photoshop *points at preview image below*. I'm not very good at epic-type pictures, so I hope I can poke at this one until I can get some kind of finished piece out of it! :D

Have a good weekend, everyone!!

Arys in other arts!

Check out these lovely Ary arts~! :D Thank you Audrey and Hannah for taking the time to draw her!
Look at how fluffy Audrey's Ary is!! I just want to pet her!
Hannah drew this Ary a while ago, but I think it deserves to be posted here, too :) This was a request of mine, since I caught a kiriban on Hannah's DA page. :D

Brenda's many layers

It's sad to think that not even a month ago I was posting about the weather being way too hot. Now I'm posting about the incoming of winter. Makes me think of those winters when I'd have arguments with my Mom in regards to the thermostat. She was convinced that 15 degrees was the perfect temperature, and I voted for 20. My efforts were futile, however, since mom was the boss, so I tried to compromise by layering sweaters.

I think I was at 8 sweaters when I noticed I couldn't breathe anymore. Oh well. At least it gave me something to do.

More Shenanigans

Here's lookin' at ya, kid! Ary is finally painted and glazed :)
Full body shot.
Her bum.
Can you tell that I love painting girly eyelashes?
'Nother angle...
...and one more. Look, she's batting her eyelashes at you!!
Now, onto some drawings from today. On my lunch break I headed on over to the coffee shop to doodle. First off, I was trying my hand at Delilah from Tally's comic-in-the-works The Second Witch of Wilhem. These are pretty quick sketches, so sorry if I didn't do her justice, Tally! @___@
I decided to give up on any fancy sketches and just did straight pen doodles. Here, Ary torments and confuses Delilah. She's auditioning for the role of Delilah's cat, but odds are she won't get the job.
Delilah as a more "traditional" witch? Hm...
Beatrice made it into my doodles too. I was sitting next to the Angora Napkin pages on that are on the wall, so this was bound to happen.

Ary's over-the-top-happy friend(?) Triffanne. She looks demented and creepy, hence the label.

Robo Toro

Photos from last week's mechanical bull riding fiasco.
I'm all psyched up to go check this bull thing out.
Here is the monster.
Troy and I were up for the challenge!
Smaudrey drawring some pictures :)
Hold on!!
I smiled throughout the whole thing though I was terrified O___o
Meh, just some randomness for your amusement. :) More drawings soon! :D

Sketches, Doodles, and Life drawrings!

Finally uploading a bunch of pics, including those life drawings I promised. First off, here are the doodles from last night when I rode the Robo Toro. Troy contributed to the top page - Beatrice and the evil Robo Toro.

Okay, now onto the life drawings. These are the ones from my first class. :)We began with 2 minute sketches. Then we eventually moved onto 20/30 minute sketches.

Uhm, now that I've got my sketchbook out, I'll scan a couple more little things from it.

I was getting silly and drew Sandra in all her old costumes. xD

Then I went on to draw Tisha in her old costume. And then drew Ella the piano. And randomly a this cat fan showed up, too. Hm...?Hope you had fun looking at the sketches! xD
