Some Saturday morning cartoons.

Fan Art pt 1

Doodles from yesterday's trip to the coffee shop. For some reason I was fixated on drawing ridiculous Garfield pictures. He pretty much just looks like an Aryfied-Garfield hybrid.

As you can see, my Odies are top-notch.

The top Garfield in this one is loosely based on my cat Meem.

One thing I don't understand about the modern Garfield strips (aside from why they're still running), is why Garfield's feet are now bigger than, well, the rest of him? Is he a fat cat or a foot cat? I'm not sure I understand his character anymore. My example drawing of his new look is not very skilled, haha!

Last night's drawing party involved markers. LOTS of markers! In the end, I was only drawing pictures so I'd have something to colour.

Heee-yawh!! Another blog post from yours truly!

I've been doodling and sketching lots lately, but most of it is concept art on a project I'm not ready to share online yet. In the Air ch05 is, this time for serious(!), almost done. I rewrote the ending probably 3 times now, and am finally happy with how book 1 is going to end. Since the book is so close to completion, ALL pages are available to read for FREE on Wirepop.com, so if you've been wanting to read it before but the online subscription turned you off, now is the time to take a look!

New Years Doodles!

Well, here's a little bit of what I've been doing this year so far! I did my best yesterday and got to finishing 5 pages of inking on "In the Air"! 6 more pages until chapter 4 is DONE, y'all!! :D

My motivation for comic work has gone down the drain lately - I really need to get my confidence back up again so that I can work smoothly again! Anyways, here are some doodles I've made in an attempt to get my fighting spirit back!! Hwa!

I was Swimming Across the Sky

I'm four days late..! But Emilie Simon's new album, The Big Machine, was released in France this past Monday! Currently it's too pricey for me to import a copy, so I'm thankful to the youtube users who have uploaded the album so that I can at least listen to it :)

So, I ended up watching the whole L'Olympia concert... (feels a tiny bit of shame since there are other more important things I should be doing right now). It is truly amazing!! I love watching Emilie perform live - it's so interesting to see how the different sounds and effects are created. I'm especially interested in that gizmo on her arm that she uses to manipulate her voice. The guy in the top hat is amusing too. :)

Singers like Emilie get me daydreaming of what it must be like to be a singer. To the dismay of my family members, I'll often belt out a tune in any given area of the apartment...

Erm, anyways, that aside..! I had lots of free time at work, and started a painting on photoshop *points at preview image below*. I'm not very good at epic-type pictures, so I hope I can poke at this one until I can get some kind of finished piece out of it! :D

Now, onto some drawings from today. On my lunch break I headed on over to the coffee shop to doodle. First off, I was trying my hand at Delilah from Tally's comic-in-the-works The Second Witch of Wilhem. These are pretty quick sketches, so sorry if I didn't do her justice, Tally! @___@

I decided to give up on any fancy sketches and just did straight pen doodles. Here, Ary torments and confuses Delilah. She's auditioning for the role of Delilah's cat, but odds are she won't get the job.

Delilah as a more "traditional" witch? Hm...

Beatrice made it into my doodles too. I was sitting next to the Angora Napkin pages on that are on the wall, so this was bound to happen.

Ary's over-the-top-happy friend(?) Triffanne. She looks demented and creepy, hence the label.
