And then there was clay...

Yesh, more clay sculpture goodness! This time in the honour of the Angora Napkin premiere that happened during the Ottawa International Animation Festival yesterday. I know, I know, I'm slow and this SHOULD have been posted BEFORE the event. Oh well. Better late than never, right?

Anyways, I made a figurine of Mallory as a present to Troy before he left for the screening. My first idea was to make a figure of all three girls, but I got lazy in the end... xD


Here is Mallory before being painted. Her legs aren't right here - these ones fell off. Looking at them now, eek. I'm really glad they did! The final ones look a lot less weird. O__o

Here's Mallory and my half-Molly. When Mal's legs started giving me trouble, I erm, kinda abandoned Molly. Oh well, she's still smiling!

Aaaand! Here's the finished Mallory! And she looks so happy to be alive!Here's her at the side. I tried really hard to get her popping belly right xD

Oh, Molly. Someday I may get you a left hand and a pair of feet all your own.

I heard that things went really well with the Angora Napkin screening. It was shown with 2 other pilots, and it was by far the best!! Naturally :)

Nobody knows gnomes like Gnome knows gnomes!

More clay projects! I've been stressed lately, and working with clay really helps calm me down lately. I wanted to make a present for my friend Nelly (she gave me the clay after all!) so I made her her character Gnome. :) My sister Teresa was over for a couple sleepovers too, so she made some of her very first clay sculptures! I was surprised that she was so excited to do this with me. It made me very happy!


Here is the Gnome before she was painted. She looks slightly creepy!! The big head next to her is Teresa's Temple Fugate - the Clock King from the Batman animated series. He's not completely done yet - we keep having trouble with his ear falling off!!

Now onto Teresa's other piece. Well, this actually is her first piece! A lovely penguin. Pretty awesome for her first try!
Here is our little buddy all painted and ready to go. He's very cute and classy in his bow tie!

Here's how the Gnome turned out. I ended up getting fancy with glueing paper flowers on there. I also got out my shiney gold pen to colour her hair barrets and glazed over her eyes with clear nail polish for an extra shine. :)
